On Saturday 14th March, a group of staff and directors of 3a Accountants put their values into action as they undertook a day of voluntary work at the Ursuline Sisters Children Institute in Guardamangia.
Angela House houses children aged 4 to 15 who due to various reasons cannot live with their families. The Institute has around 43 children in 6 separate units with each unit having a Sister who acts as the responsible guardian for these children. The aim of this set up is to create a safe and healthy environment similar to that of a normal family in which these children can grow and develop and which unfortunately would be lacking in their real families.
In this respect, 3a staff spent the day carrying out maintenance work at one of these units as well as entertaining and providing activities to the children. At the end of the day, a donation was given by 3a Managing Director Neville Cutajar, on behalf of the staff and directors. In Mr. Cutajar words: 3a core values entails that we contribute to our community well being, in particular, to those which for one reason or another would be disadvantaged in our society.
On her part, Sr. Rosalie Galea, Mother Superior of the Ursuline Sisters, thanked 3a staff for their generosity and thoughtfulness and for helping to make a difference to the lives and well being of the children. 3a have pledged to carry on supporting Angela House and other similar institutions and causes as part of their continuous corporate social responsibility program. |
