Malta-Switzerland Tax Treaty |
| Written by Franco Falzon — Thu, 19 February 2009 |
Malta has signed the long-awaited double tax treaty with Switzerland on 18th December 2008. Malta's new treaty with Switzerland is expected to complement its current treaty which is restricted to double tax relief on profits derived from ships and aircrafts. The new treaty is further expected to create new opportunities in the financial services sector in view of the fact that both Malta and Switzerland have developed into large European financial centres.
